How is the final mark for a course determined?
That depends on the type of course you are enrolled in:
- Online 2.0 format: Unit evaluations = 70% of your final course mark; culminating activity* + final test = 30% of your final course mark.
- Online 1.0 format: Unit evaluations = 70% of your final course mark; final test = 30% of your final course mark
- PDF : Unit evaluations = 70% of your final course mark; final test = 30% of your final course mark
* Please note: In order to progress to the final test, you must receive a passing mark on the culminating activity. The culminating activity is a final assignment that requires you to apply learning from the entire course.
What happens if I do not earn a passing mark on an assignment?
If you are completing a course through MyILC, you will have the opportunity to complete a second attempt at the assignment. All other students can move onto the next unit. In either case, we recommend you review your teacher’s feedback and incorporate it into further assignments. This enables you the opportunity to use the assessment and notes to improve on future coursework.
All students must still pass the course to earn their credit.
